Smith Street Yoga Studio is located in the heart of Smith St in Fitzroy, Melbourne.

It is a space where community is built, where joy, laughter and even tears are shared without judgement, in a compassionate setting. It is a space where we share the journey of yoga together, as One. 

We offer a variety of classes, from Slow Flow to Vinyasa, from Restorative to Yin, and on behalf of Lianne Metcalf and The SomaChi Association, are proud to present the unique SomaChi style.

We also provide training in a traditional Martial Art, Silat Perisai Diri.


We closed our physical studio in Fitzroy in April 2020 due to Covid 19. We then have continued offering our full time table classes live-streamed via Zoom.

How to participate in a live- stream class :

  • Book the class maximum 30 minutes prior to the class commencing
  • Booking can be done via the Mindbody app or the time table on our website
  • Zoom link will be emailed 30 minutes prior to the class starting
  • Prepare a comfortable space for your yoga practice ( including yoga mat and any props you may have). A quiet place will be useful. 
  • Make sure you have a good internet connection and your webcam/phone camera is on.  You do not need to have your video on, but the teacher will be able to see you if you do.  It is recommended to download the Zoom app if you are using a mobile phone. If you are using a desktop/laptop, you can access the class via the weblink.
