Back Bending Workshop

Join Lauren Hull for a two hour workshop to learn the essential elements of a safe and steady backbend. We will be focusing on the lower spine and hips and how they relate to backbends.
Experiencing backbends in a yoga class can be quite mentally and physically challenging as it is the opposite movement to what we are used to in our daily life. Whether it’s sitting at a desk, texting, driving or picking up a child we develop a habitual pattern of bending forward and closing.
It is an uncomfortable experience to do something completely different, but there are ways that we can work towards increasing our steadiness and comfort in these postures.
We will identify what we need to practice backbends and will delve deeper into elements of strength and flexibility in the lumbar spine and hips that come together to allow us to explore back-bending without pain or fear.
Starting off with simple actions that we will build upon throughout the workshop we can identify our personal limitations and how to work with them not against them.
Through detailed and at times intense work you will leave this workshop feeling ready to take on the next backbend that comes your way!
